Dell 27 USB-C Monitor P2720DC Review

Dell’s new P2720DC 27″ monitor is perfect for users who want a large, high-quality display with USB-C connectivity. This LED-backlit IPS LCD monitor offers QHD resolution (2560×1440 pixels) and great viewing angles with a 1000:1 contrast ratio, making it ideal for work or home use.  So if you’re looking for a large, versatile monitor, the Dell P2720DC is definitely worth considering. I liked mine so much that I bought a 2nd one for my desk.

Bigger screens are more productive

It’s been shown that we can spend a third of our day in front of a screen which has an impact of health and productivity. Laptops are great for mobility but not so much for long hours of productivity and this is where having a larger screen helps. Multiple productivity studies have demonstrated that using a 27” computer monitor or larger will help increase work output. Using a larger monitor allows you to reduce context switching by having more application windows open at the same time. This allows you to focus on primary tasks instead of secondary tasks like opening and closing windows or moving them around repeatedly to get better views of data. Additionally larger monitors are more ergonomic and can help reduce neck and back strain since they’re at eye level instead of making you look downward as one would with a laptop screen.

What is an IPS monitor?

IPS monitors are quickly becoming the gold standard for display quality, and it’s easy to see why. IPS (in-plane switching) technology offers a number of advantages over traditional TN (twisted nematic) panels. For one, IPS monitors provide much wider viewing angles, so you can see the screen clearly from any angle. They also tend to have better color reproduction, making them ideal for photo and video editing. In addition, IPS monitors typically have faster refresh rates, which can be important for gamers and other power users. Finally, IPS monitors tend to be more energy-efficient than other types of monitors, so you’ll save a bit of money on your electric bill each month. Overall, IPS monitors provide a superior viewing experience, and that’s why they’re the preferred choice for many users.

What is QHD?

QHD resolution is a type of display resolution that offers more pixels than HD but fewer than 4K. The name comes from the fact that it offers four times the number of pixels as HD resolution. QHD resolution is a display resolution that offers 2560×1440 pixels in a 16:9 aspect ratio. It’s also known as WQHD, which stands for Wide Quad HD, because it offers about 77% more pixels on the screen than standard 1080p HD displays. That extra resolution makes QHD displays ideal for use with larger monitors or televisions, as well as for gaming and other demanding applications where you need plenty of screen real estate to see everything clearly. QHD resolution is also becoming more common in smartphones, although the smaller screens mean that you won’t necessarily notice the extra pixels unless you hold the phone very close to your face. No matter where you see it, though, QHD resolution offers a significant upgrade over standard HD resolution.
