Unlike a traditional wireless network, which typically has one router that covers a limited area, a mesh wi-fi system can cover a much larger area by placing multiple routers throughout the home or office. The routers are connected wirelessly, and each router rebroadcasts the signal from the other routers, creating a “mesh” of coverage. Mesh wi-fi systems are becoming increasingly popular as they offer better coverage than traditional wireless networks. What is dual-band Wi-FI?
Dual-band Wi-Fi is a type of wireless connection that uses two different frequency bands to connect devices to the internet. The two bands are typically 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Most routers are dual-band, which means they can broadcast on both frequencies. Dual-band Wi-Fi is faster and more reliable than single-band Wi-Fi because it has more available bandwidth. It’s also less likely to experience interference from other household devices, like microwave ovens and cordless phones.
What is MU-MIMO?
MU-MIMO stands for “multi-user, multiple input, multiple output.” Using multiple antennas allows communication with multiple devices at the same time. This is a big improvement over traditional WiFi routers, which can only communicate with one device at a time. How to add Guardian mesh repeater to Gryphon network
Adding a new Guardian mesh repeater to your Gryphon router is straight forward. From the Gryphon phone app Click on Settings and then Add Mesh Repeater. You’ll first be prompted to scan the QR code on the back of your Guardian device. The next step is to plug a network cable from Internet port of the Guardian repeater to one of the LAN ports on the back of the Guardian router and then click the Next button.
The phone app will then display a status screen while the setup continues. Once the setup has completed you can unplug the Guardian repeater and move it somewhere else in your home where the Wi-Fi access is poor. Once it is powered on again in the new location open the phone app again and you’ll see that it has been correctly added your Gryphon network.
If you click on the new repeater in the phone app you’ll see the devices that are connected to it. Clicking on the devices will show you additional details about each device.
